If you found a NANO-TECHNOLOGY gun, what would you use it to do?

Nanotechnology is a field of science and engineering whose ultimate aim is to build robots smaller than living cells with the ability to arrange individual atoms into any physically possible pattern. Put another way, the aim is total control of the structure of matter, rearranging it at will via molecule-sized machines to suit human purposes.

If you had a “nano-ray” what would you use it to do?
You would basically have gods power. Right?

A question about NANITES. Can they be the answer to world peace?

What if there were Nanites that could eat gunpowder in bullets and literally scour the planet for weapons, knowingly when they were going to be misused. A sort of smart, bacteria-sized robots that could sniff out and destroy ammunition and nuclear warheads, as well as conventional explosives, even the blade of a knife in the wrong hands. Is this possible? Of course the creator of this technology, would have to have anti-Nano Ammo. But still hopefully the establishment of right and good, could actually eliminate killing through weapons.

Do Laws Need to be created for Nano Technology so that this doesn’t happen?

20 to 200 yrs in the future depending on the circumstance of events. Pharmaceutical, Genetic, and Robotic company’s will merge together to create social standards a firm economic grip on the “free market” and spawn array positives and negatives into day to day life from what kinds of medications you will need for all the “new” virus that will spawn within days or months while both came from the same place, the virus and the vaccine, or replacement part for artifical limbs or power sources for such, both for economically positive and negative.

the very idea of human enhancements is a very interesting in his potentials on both positive to idea that it could enlighten humans biology, complex tasks, knowledge, but also very scary on how it could possibly be used for limitation and control, reprogramming nature and population for purposes bringing about a new age of dependency/slavery. a artificial evolution.

Imagine every day as if its your last…well what if that was the case, a virus designed so itructly that it would take hundred of yrs to dismantle and understand it. that you needed to take your medication or have your injection of whatever in order to survive because the human immune system had finally reached a state of complete understanding, that it now could be made into a fighting machine killing off anything that would harm the body at a price; or a weak, crippled, body unable to fight off even the human cold without the proper medication from the proper company who owns the patent or copyright to anti virus(with biomedical, genetic engineering or nano technology it is possible it is not a question of how because the how exist and why does to, but a question of when) . you would need that company or government to survive in essence creating a form of slavery in a system of complete dependency the laws would be enforced by microscopic police..

from a individual stand point being a extrovert and looking in. i can see most future generations disliking the idea of being human because to be human would be weak incapable of taking any sort daily tasks. self hatred would occur and self mutilation would occur in order to trade human limbs, in for something stronger out of evolutionary standards of artificial limbs, Controlled emotion(during wartime soldiers, police officers, even rioters would be subjected to no emotion or other degrees of emotion to help benefit psychological repercussions or social repercussions like civil unrest) controlled thinking( help people focus or distract people from fact or objective), controlled mobility(limitations on restricted areas {government buildings and complexes} and the mobility of moving through or around them or illegal if a illegal action takes place all limbs would fail to work, to help with rule of law). possible social classes would come from all of this if your poor you cant afford a artificial biological(limb or organ) substitute from a injury or life long handicap. a counter-culture will form from this copying or finding ways around it because where there is will there is a way and nature will have its way, one way or another. a advance stage of evolution could spawn out of this possibly to keep up with this self mutilation.

I just hope, because when there is nothing left there is always hope and faith. that we wont go to far, that we will reach a point where all human characteristics will be unrecognizable, that we will abandon the very natural things that make us who we are and forsake our humanity our ability to love for self hatred. when is far to far? anyways

How Close are we to Practical Nanotechnology?

By nanotechnology, I’m referring to the microscopic robots of sci-fi origin.

I was just daydreaming about how one day in my lifetime, going to the store might mean buying an “assembly” nano-bot that will assemble an entire set of dishes from the molecular level.

You walk into the store, and perhaps you want to buy a beautiful kitchen table. All the raw material needed is in something the size of a cereal box, and the nanobot inside is just waiting to build it.

When activated the nano-bot, will begin its work by self-replicating a few million of itself, then start converting raw material into whatever it was designed to make. Before too long, your beautiful new Armour, plasma-screen television, or Volkswagen will appear being constructed in thin air.

Perhaps every home would have an assembly room or something the size of a microwave that could literally make anything in a couple hours. All you’d have to do is pay the appropriate website for the “blueprints,” then download.

Nanotechnology is going to become common in everything from computing to medicine in 20 years. Is that scary?

Will you welcome the invisibly small robots, probes and a.i. supercomputers the size of a fingernail? You could be breathing in or drinking thousands of multi-task nano-bots without knowing it. It’s coming whether we like it or not! It could have great benefits. Or is it all just too damn creepy to deal with? Outlaw it? Yes or no?

Is it really possible to scientificaly catch a fart and turn it green?

ok, I heard it in a joke but I can’t stop thinking…. can you catch a fart and turn it green? From collection and capture, to the actual cheimical change and variations. 20 years ago we never thought tiny robots could build themselves so small we could inject them into our bodies threw a seringe (nano tech), and we never could emagine the computing power that would fit in the palm of our hands so, I wouldn’t be too suprized if you could realy do it. and what a good way to put Yahoo Answers to the test. I can already think of a few possibilities for it. like… NOW YOU CAN SAVE BABYS FIRST FART. Or maby this will lead to a new way to find out who REALLY delt it. So lets have it, CAN YOU CATCH A FART AND TURN IT GREEN OR NOT!
